IF HEAVEN WERE A HOME

Ahhhhhh, Selby. you read the plans in mah mind yet again. Obsessed with every little trinket enclosed in this Brooklyn home. One day I WILL have an entirely melted candle fireplace. Mark my words internet fiends.

Maple Leaf

Yesterday I downloaded Maple computing software for my computer. Should have done this light years ago, now I can solve big equations numerically and get answers to differential equation problems like this:

Cool. Thanks prof.
Maple is neat.

Makin' trees

On mah mind: Fractals again!? I can't get enough of these babies. Found some code online for a random tree generator using a fairly straightforward iterative process involving a rotation transformation for each new level of branches. It has a randomized component in it for the angles of the tree branches, which gives it a natural effect rather than completely uniform (very unrealistic). This is the same technique used to generate forests in video games or computer-animated movies... Hire me Pixar? I just LOVE how math governs the growth of trees, ferns, flowers, mountains, coastlines, and so many other natural features of this earth. Yes, I think about it, well, all the time.

Here is one tree that I made on Matlab tonight. Stay tuned for many an idea/project/surprise I have for more fractals............

SNOW ZONE

As snow and subfreezing temperatures have now become a part of my life, I have found the greatest necessity for the HUGEST of scarves. If it can eat me alive, then I probably love it/need it.
Later mini skirts, hellooooooo cable knit EVERYTHING.

Above are some faves, mostly from asos & bloomingdale's

Happy T-gives!

I cooked my first turkey yesterday. Bar a severely burned finger, everything went swimmingly! This was my first Thanksgiving family-less so I decided to throw a party for all my foreign (and not so foreign) friends who have never had the delight of an overly stuffed belly before 6 pm at the end of November. Everyone brought dishes, flavors from China, Philippines etc etc. and I made the most nerdy dessert I could conjure up for all my mathematical friends. It was a delight. *Sigh* Too bad I couldn't fit this many digits in peanut butter chips ....
